Virgo and Pisces

During this New Moon on March 13th pm, 14th, and 15th we can honor our delicate, idealistic, emotional, intuitive side. We can read about, meditate on, and contemplate these things. For those with the Sun in Pisces, these days are like an extra birthday.

On Feb 28th and March 1st a Full Moon in Virgo will emphasize two very different ways of being. We already discussed Pisces. Virgo, the opposite sign, works and serves, is practical, pragmatic, and productive. At this time we can appreciate both perspectives. Even traditional Christianity, in its newest Catechism, defines the invisible as more important that the visible. If this is a new area for you, try meditating and listening or praying and then listening. And there are many books on the invisible world. The Church of Light books by C.C. Zain give a complete western view and “Tibetan Yoga and the Secret Doctrine” gives a fascinating eastern view. My paper on Egyptian Magic is in parts on my web site and gives the Egyptian view. During this New Moon on March 13th pm, 14th, and 15th we can honor our delicate, idealistic, emotional, intuitive side. We can read about, meditate on, and contemplate these things. For those with the Sun in Pisces, these days are like an extra birthday. On Feb 28th and March 1st a Full Moon in Virgo will emphasize two very different ways of being. We already discussed Pisces. Virgo, the opposite sign, works and serves, is practical, pragmatic, and productive. At this time we can appreciate both perspectives. Since the Virgo Moon is receiving the light from the Pisces Sun, this is an opportunity for solid, responsible Virgo to become more open to subtle things. Under both the new and full moon this month, we should review our vision and mission statements. Aquarius and Leo The New Moon in Aquarius will take place on Feb 12th and 13th. This sign is associated with humanity, knowledge, and a global perspective. This is a great time to ponder and meditate on these things. This is the time for insight and action that promotes people and education. The presence of both the Sun and Moon in Aquarius helps us to see the big picture and be effective in our action. The long-term presence of Neptune in Aquarius adds insight and imagination to this already abstract sign. So, let’s learn something, extend our social circle, activate the subtle mind, and look beyond our borders. A Full Moon in Leo will take place on the 29th and 30th of January. The light from the Aquarian Sun will reflect off of the Leo Moon and shine on us. We will receive a mixture of Aquarian and Leo qualities. Leo is creative and playful like a child, it rules like a king, and it loves like a young lover. Play, power, young love, and creativity will be in the air, ready to be breathed in. From the Aquarian Sun we’ll pick up a respect for people and ideas, and many and varied ways of being and doing. The creative, loving, and ruling Leo in us can become more informed and democratic. P.S. Both Aquarius and Leo are important in the chart of President Obama. Capricorn and Cancer The Capricorn New Moon takes place on Jan 13th, 14, and the morning of the 15th. This is a fine time to think about, intuit, and meditate on Capricorn issues. Capricorn things can be contemplated on these three Moon in Capricorn days and then acted on for the rest of the time that the Sun is in Capricorn. Some new habits should be formed by the time the Sun goes into Aquarius on Jan. 19th. Although this plan can work for many resolutions, here are some Capricorn type things that fit in with the natural current: planning for the future and setting goals, organizing, getting better use out of what you already have, looking for opportunities, becoming aware of the highest expression of anything, getting on better terms with those above you, improving your public image, improving business, and developing an appreciation for anything practical. Full Moon in Cancer happens on the 31st of Dec and the 1st of January. The Capricorn Sun is shining on the Cancer Moon and gives all of us and especially those with something important in Cancer, the opportunity to pick up some Capricorn qualities. Cancer tends to be relaxed, genuine, nurturing, and intuitive. That’s great, but now complimentary qualities can be added. If these energies are focused on, Cancer can become more ambitious, practical, formal, and effective. If you are looking to move onward and upward, look for hints of how to do this during these Full Moon days and the entire time the Sun is in Capricorn. This year these lunations are eclipses. We should try something new and expansive but be a bit cautious. New and Full Moons 2009 Sagittarius and Gemini The New Moon in Sagittarius will take place on Dec. 14th, 15th, and 16th. When the Sun and Moon are in this sign it is a great time to make a fresh start in a Sagittarian area. Sagittarius is about physical and mental adventures because the Centaur symbol is part animal and part human. New involvements with nature, exercise, classes, lectures, religious activities, or distant travel are appropriate. Meditating on any of these things is wonderful. The Full Moon in Gemini will take place on the 1st and 2nd of December. At this time light from the Sagittarian Sun will shine of the Gemini Moon. Restless, versatile, reasonable Gemini can benefit by incorporating the faith, optimism, loyalty, exercise and fun of Sagittarian pursuits. This is also a great time to appreciate the reason, science, facts, and accurate perceptions of Gemini along with the faith, religion, community oriented, and good judgment qualities of Sagittarius. Scorpio and Taurus The New Moon will take place in Scorpio on Nov. 15th and 16th. This is a time of special stimulation for anyone with something important in their chart in Scorpio. Intense things, people, and situations will come to such a person. The new moon is a time for new starts and with the Moon and Sun in Scorpio these things are natural areas for focus: renovation, transformation, initiating a radical change, getting in touch with the other side, getting to the bottom of a mystery, understanding and increasing one’s personal force, facing one’s shadow and passions, choosing the highroad when dealing with difficulties, studying famous Scorpios, and focusing on shared strengths, resources, and pleasures. These are also great areas for meditation at this time. Expect some mysterious topic to present itself. The Full Moon in Taurus will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of November. The emphasis will be on anyone with something important in these signs, Taurus and Scorpio, as, important things are coming to them from many sides. These opposite signs form an axis and represent my money and possessions and resources (Taurus) versus yours (Scorpio) and my strength and sensuousness (Taurus) versus yours (Scorpio). These signs are strong, sensuous, and involved with holdings. At the Full Moon, the light from the Scorpio Sun falls on the Taurus Moon. At this time practical, routine Taurus can make changes, break out of ruts, appreciate mystery, and become more aware of shared resources, pleasures, and strengths. Libra and Aries New and Full Moons are worth noting. During New Moons we can make a fresh start in a particular area of our lives. During Full Moons we can learn to appreciate both sides of a dichotomy. In Astrology, there are six pairs of opposing signs that show different tendencies in our selves and in the world. An example of opposing signs is Aries and Libra. Both New and Full Moon are excellent for meditating on appropriate topics. And if you know the houses of your horoscope that the signs fall in, that gives you more information. The New Moon in Libra is on Oct. 16th, 17th and early18th. This is the time to contemplate how we relate things and people in a harmonious way. And it is a great time to think about relationships and make sure that we know what promotes and what works against this important area of our lives. This New Moon is also an appropriate time to beautify or pursue the arts. Attending a social affair at a gallery would be the perfect Libra activity. Full Moon in Aries happens on Oct. 3rd and 4th. The light from the Sun in Libra is illuminating the Moon in Aries. This is a natural time for Aries to increase appreciation for Libra ways, namely, the importance of others and the power of beauty. In addition to this, this Full Moon is a good time to think about proper balance between the importance of our identity, agenda, and activities and these same things in our partner. Virgo and Pisces The New Moon in Virgo will take place on the 17th and 18th of September. Virgo New Moons are a great time to make fresh starts in Virgo areas – work, service, diet, and health. We may want to meditate on these themes and see if our work satisfies us, if we give enough service, if we are following our mission, and if our diet and health habits fortify us for life. The New Moon opposes Uranus and gives us opportunities to be ingenius. For Virgos, these Moon Virgo days give an extra birthday, and things and people should be coming to you. The Full Moon in Pisces takes place later on the 3rd, the 4th, and the 5th of September. Light from the Virgo Sun shines on the Pisces Moon and comes to us. This light becomes a mixture of both signs and their approaches to life. As we think about this light we can balance the dichotomy. From Virgo we can honor the tendency to be practical, to deal patiently with details, and to value all work and service. In cloistered religious communities a blessing is asked on all the work that will be performed each day, making it holy. From Pisces we can honor the tendency to be ideal and connected to everything, we can rise above earth and see paradise. The question is whether or not we are following our vision. Uranus in the sign, Pisces brings surprises and new approaches. Leo and Aquarius The New Moon in Leo will take place on August 18th, 19th, and early 20th. This is a fine time to celebrate and make new starts with Leo things. Leo represents children, enjoying life, creating, and ruling. The New Moon is a time to improve our relationship with or our talent in these areas. Some insightful astrologer said that Leo’s are the center of attention because they have something to give. This is a good time for us to determine what will make us shine brighter and it is like an extra birthday for Leos. The Full Moon in Aquarius takes place on Aug 5th and 6th. Light from the Sun in radiant Leo is shining on the Aquarius Moon and on to us. We can delight in this beautiful time of month and spend time in the moonshine, the light not the liquid. We can delight in playful, creative, powerful Leo qualities. And we can appreciate the intelligence and people skills of democratic Aquarius. This is a good time to acknowledge what Aquarians know, that good things come to us through people and ideas. So let’s meet some folks and pursue some ideas, make some discoveries and share them. This is a great opportunity to make new starts and improvements in Cancerian areas. Cancer is associated with feelings, home, family, community, and nurturing. This is an opportunity to gain insight that will make us happier in our minds, home, and community. For Cancerians, these dates are like an additional birthday. If either of these dates is your birthday the coming year will be focused on Cancerian things more than usual. The Full Moon will take place in Capricorn on July 6th and 7th. Light from the Cancer Sun is reflecting off the Capricorn Moon and both are shining on us. This should give us an opportunity to appreciate two very different ways of looking at things. Cancer is about taking care of affairs at home in one’s own way. Capricorn is about operating in the world while being mindful of social and business rules. One wears shorts the other a suit. Cancer takes care of people and environments, Capricorn sets and achieves goals. Cancer is unconditional, Capricorn is not. The methods of each sign are necessary in their own areas to achieve domestic happiness and worldly success. Doing ordinary things in a different way opens up new pathways in the brain and increases learning. Renewing a relationship with a neighbor or relative, especially a brother or sister or cousin is appropriate. Meditations to improve thought and manner of speech promote growth. And Geminis get an extra birthday. Full Moon in Sagittarius happens on the 6th and 7th of June. Light from the Gemini sun reflects off the Sagittarius Moon and comes to earth. Under this we can appreciate two different ways of looking at things. Under Gemini; nonjudgmental perception, the facts, science, and new stimulation thrive. Under Sagittarius; faith, religion, philosophy, viewpoints, hunting and searching, and forming conclusions flourish. Both signs travel and learn and sport (Gemini is the arms and Sag the legs). At this time we can practice appreciating faith and facts, science and religion, news and opinion, and study and exercise.
