Sun Signs for August 2010

The information in this column is limited. It does not replace your seeing your astrologer. If you know the sign of your Moon and your Ascending sign, read those sections also. This information is helpful because it mentions planets passing through your sign. These do bring opportunities.

Special note: The emphasis this month is on the signs Leo, Virgo, and Libra. Whatever we have in our own charts, we also become these qualities temporarily. The Sun in weeks 1, 2, and 3 is in its own sign, Leo. This means that power, confidence, and entertainment are in the air ready to be tapped into by us. The Sun in week 4 and Mercury all month are in the sign Virgo. Virgo is more that a virgin, it's an angel. We should pursue our mission and seek out our noble side. Mercury in Virgo is particularly clever and goes retrograde on the 20th and turns direct again on the 12th of September. During this time a little extra focus is necessary and during the entire time that Mercury is in Virgo, 27 July to 3 Oct, we could have a prolonged interest or concern. Venus and Mars are in Libra moving fairly close together. This promotes creativity and love. Saturn is near these two in weeks 1 and 2, this adds sensibleness and restraint to the situation. We may tone down our stilletos a bit. Mars near Saturn early in the month requires focus on safety and care with fatigue.

We are in our 3rd month of the T square between Uranus and Jupiter in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn, and Saturn. This T square is quite close this summer and some planets among the group will be engaged for quite a while. Let's take another look. It represents a great deal of energy coming together, creative people can use this in their activities. In the world, I'm being conservative by saying that the usual things that happen, storms, floods, earthquakes etc., will continue to happen a be somewhat worse. (So far we've had flash floods in Arkansas and Oklahoma, a continuation of severe flooding in China, and the oil catastrophe in the Gulf. And since the Icelandic volcano's first eruption happened with an aspect between planets in some of these signs, this current grouping of planets could stimulate more eruptions with resultant events. In our own lives, some will be affected more that others. Those with important planets in Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn will be affected more that others. We all need to shape up and be sensible in our methods and conservative with money. We need to be prepared to help those close to us. We should not take unnecessary risks or count on luck. It's not the best time to start things. Since conflict is shown by planets in the sky, we can expect conflict in our lives. We can add Venus and Mars to the mix in early August. Our actions should be well thought out and sound and love needs more care. A huge thing that we all can do is express in our lives the positive side of the planets and signs involved. Looking at this order: Aries, Pisces, Jupiter, Uranus, Cancer, Libra, Saturn, Capricorn, and Pluto we can do this: clarify our identities, pay attention, maintain faith, solve problems, take care of home and family, love our partners, be patient, set new goals, work in groups for good causes, and become more dynamic and assertive. We should avoid overwork, impulse, radicalism, and extremes. These things are easy to say and hard to do but they make all of the difference. And our personal behavior does effect larger events. On the positive side let's remember that Pluto is trining the earth signs, Saturn in Libra trines the air signs, and Jupiter trine the fire signs. These trines bring harmony and good.
