Sun Signs for May '13

The information in this column is limited. It does not replace your seeing your astrologer. If you know the sign of your Moon and your Ascending sign, read those sections also. This information is helpful because it mentions planets passing through your sign. These do bring opportunities.

Special note: Here's wishing all of you the best in May. The emphasis this month is on the signs Taurus and Gemini. Whatever we have in our own charts, we also become these qualities temporarily. Taurus represents the heart of spring and all that it brings to mind. The Sun in weeks 1, 2, and 3; Mercury in weeks 1 and 2; Venus in week 1; and Mars all month are in Taurus. We are sensuous, content, and aware of the beauty around us. Mars does stir things up and requires that we be smart with money. The Sun in week 4; Mercury in weeks 3 and 4; and Venus in weeks 2, 3, and 4 are in intelligent Gemini. We are active, traveling, and communicating. Jupiter in Gemini will be joined by these bodies and that keeps things good. A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus on the 8^th, 9^th, and much of the 10^th can bring new starts financially. Spring is in the air to be enjoyed and we can. Due to the involvement of Saturn and Mars in this eclipse, let's be a bit cautious. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius on the 25^th and 26^th brings adventures of mind and body. Let's enjoy this but be clear and a bit careful.

Saturn continues in Scorpio for 2 years. This is huge. Libra has been taxed by Saturn and now it is Scorpio's turn. Scorpios should expect hard work and new goals. Watch out for overwork and fatigue and get plenty of rest and recreation to lift the spirit. In addition to Libra; Aries, Capricorn, and Cancer should feel relief from a weight. In addition to Scorpio; Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius should note any deficiencies in their lives and try to fill them. This positive activity will use up the Saturn energy.

Israel is in the news. In their birth chart, early Scorpio rises, a Taurus Sun is in the 7^th, and Moon, Pluto, Saturn, and Mars are in Leo in the 10^th. Saturn has entered into relationship with these planets. This two year passage of Saturn through Scorpio will set of all of these bodies in tense ways. Expect trouble. Iran has three planets in Aquarius forming a grand cross with Israel's planets. The stage is set. I wish us all luck. The eclipse is stimulating this. A total of three eclipses will activate this in '13.

The Pluto Uranus square continues and makes the extreme unpredictable and the unpredictable more extreme. When you hear about events that are unusually bad, like tornadoes and earthquakes, Sandy, and the Boston Marathon bombing this is one of the culprits. This aspect existed in the early 30s. I have concluded that this square also represents the conflict between the left (Uranus) and the right (Capricorn). I have finally resolved it in my own mind. With so much news coverage of the conflicting positions, I see it as an opportunity to see the good that the left has to offer and to see the good that the right has to offer. With Saturn in Scorpio showing intense grief, I'm so happy that I have read, “Life after Life”, “Evidence for the Afterlife”, “Proof of Heaven”, and “Heaven is for Real”. These books are as close as we can get to evidence for heaven and an afterlife, with the exception of having an NDE. As evidence they are very comforting. Incidentally, “Proof of Heaven” came out with Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter is optimism and faith, and ideas and books come under Gemini's rule.

Days that look fairly harmonious this month are: 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 20 am, 21 after 9am, and 28 before evening. For really important events, it requires a deeper look. Part of the magic of Astrology is how much better things go when we start things on good days.

Aries: March 20 to April 20. (Iran's Moon)
Uranus is in your sign for 5 years and brings originality, unusual people, and the unexpected. Find outlets for your ingenuity, keep to reliable people, and live in a sensible way to deal well with changes. Pluto squares you from Capricorn, so, give special attention to personal matters and public life. Try to honor both your personal agenda and your public image. A sextile from Jupiter helps you. Moon in your sign late on the 5^th, the 6^th and the 7th brings people and events.

Taurus: April 21 to May 21. (Biden’s Moon, Israel's Sun)
The Sun in weeks 1, 2, and 3, Mercury in weeks 1 and 2, Venus in week 1, and Mars all month are in your sign. The Sun brings vitality, Mercury interests, Venus the pleasant, and Mars energy and/or stress. For Mars manage stress and manage conflict to free up the energy for your chosen activity. While the Sun is in your sign try to find ways to increase success and happiness. Special energy hepls you do this. Saturn will oppose you for 2 years. Saturn can bring hard work and be tiring. Try to build up your self esteem and vitality and recreate to build up your spirit. Saturn in this position can still bring contacts and opportunity. You have to be willing to be disciplined and smart about goals. Pluto in Capricorn trines you; this shows practical methods promoting success and finances. A New Moon Solar Eclipse in your sign on the 8^th, 9^th, and much of the 10th brings new starts, people, and events. Be a little bit careful and expect things to come to you.

Gemini May 22 to June 21. (Obama’s Moon, Charlie Sheen's Rising Sign, Gingrich's Sun)
The Sun in week 4; Mercury in weeks 3 and 4; and Venus in weeeks 2, 3, and 4 are in your sign. The Sun brings vitality. While the Sun is in your sign, try to increase success and happiness. Mercury brings interests. Venus brings nice things and people. Jupiter is in your sign until late June of '13. This is wonderful and brings contacts, opportunity, and abundance. Neptune is now in Pisces until '25. Imagination but also weakness of will can come to you. If you value discipline and being realistic, you can get some intellectual and spiritual good out of this. Moon in your sign later on the 10^th, the 11^th and the 12th brings people and events.

Cancer: June 22 to July 23. (Bush’s Sun and the Sun of the U.S., Casey's Moon)
Saturn in Scorpio continues a two year-long trine to you. Success will be associated with hard work, good planing, and being realistic. Planets passing through Taurus sextile you and help. Neptune will be in Pisces until '25. This makes you more imaginative and insightful. A square from Uranus brings the unexpected, so be ready. A great defense is being sensible and associating with sensible people. A long term opposition from Pluto requires good use of power. Build self esteem before dealing with anything threatening. Moon in your sign on the 13^th, 14^th, and much of the 15th brings people and events.

Leo: July 24 to Aug 23. (Obama’s Sun, Schwarzenegger's Sun, Caylee's Sun, Israel's Moon)
Planets passing through Taurus square you and bring interference. Take special care with speculation, money, and stress management. Saturn will square you for 2 years from Scorpio. If you see a deficiency in your life, find an intelligent and sensible way to fill it. Uranus trines you for 5 years from Aries and brings ingenuity and the unexpected that supports. A sextile from Jupiter brings some luck. First Quarter Moon in your sign later on the 15^th, the 16^th, and 17th brings people and events.

Virgo: Aug 24 to Sept 23. (McCain’s Sun, Charlie Sheen's Sun)
Planets passing through Taurus trine you and bring support and even money. Those passing through Gemini interfere and require good communication and good work to correct the negative tendencies. Jupiter squares you from Gemini, so stay on good terms with rules or work to change them. Neptune is opposing you from Pisces until '25. This will make you more imaginative but value building discipline. Pluto is in a long term trine with your Sun. This brings success through being practical and organized, and by association with groups. Moon in your sign on the 18^th, 19^th, and morning of the 20th brings people and events.

Libra: Sept 24 to Oct 23. (McCain’s rising Sign, Mel Gibson's Moon, Ryan's Moon)
The Sun in week 4; Mercury in weeks 3 and 4; and Venus in weeks 2, 3, and 4 trine you. This supports you socially and intellectually. Jupiter is also trining you from Gemini until late June of '13. This is very good and brings opportunity and success. Uranus opposes you from Aries for 5 years. This brings those who can open up new vistas for you but do seek out the reliable to offset upsets. Saturn has left your sign, halleluia! If you have had a tough time, focus on being nice to yourself and on healing. Continue to do your Tai Chi or Yoga. This will get you on good terms with Pluto, which is squaring you and shows you dealing with imponderable forces. This helps you meet any kind of force with positive force. Scorpio: Oct 24 to Nov 22. (Hillary’s Sun and Romney’s Moon and Biden’s Sun and Gingrich's Moon, Israel's Rising Sign)
The Sun in weeks 1, 2, and 3; Mercury in weeks 1 and 2; Venus in week 1; and Mars all month oppose you. This brings contacts but you have to get along with people who are different from you. With Mars, do manage stress and conflict or the opportunity is lost. Saturn is in your sign for the next 2 years. This is serious business and brings hard work and goals. A good way to deal with this is to note any deficiencies in your life and set sensible goals to fill them. After you fill these, you'll be way ahead. Neptune in Pisces trines you. This gives insight and harmony in subtle emotional areas. Moon in your sign later on the 22^nd, the 23^rd, and much of the 24th brings people, events, and intensity.

Sagittarius: Nov 23 to Dec 21. (Biden’s Rising Sign, Charlie Sheen's Moon)
Planets passing through Gemini after mid month oppose you. Try to get along with these intellectual types; they could bring opportunities. Jupiter also opposes you until late June of '13. In order to make contacts that are beneficial and enhance success, build your power, respect rules, and interact with the community. Neptune will be in Pisces until '25 and squares you. Imagination is heightened but seek clarity. Uranus trines you from Aries for 5 years. This increases luck, success, and adventure. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in your sign happens later on the 24^th, the 25^th, and much of the 26^th and brings adventure, people, and events. Look before you leap.

Planets passing through Taurus trine you and bring energy, success and support. Uranus is squaring you for a long time. Remember how sensible you are and reject all that is unreliable. Do expect new vistas to open up for you. Pluto is in your sign for years and brings intense and forceful things, people, and events. You can meet the force with positive action and become dynamic. Groups bring opportunities. Moon in your sign later on the 26^th, the 27^th, and much of the 28th brings people and events.

Aquarius: Jan 21 to Feb 19. (Palin’s Sun, Obama’s Rising Sign, Iran's Sun)
Planets passing through Taurus square you and bring interference. You may be aware of people who have different values. Try to appreciate the financial approach to things. Since Mars is one in the Taurus group, manage stress and conflict. Saturn is squaring you and this will last for a couple of years. Don't be shocked as you note deficiencies in your life. Find sensible ways to fill them and you will be ahead of the game. Jupiter is trining you from Gemini until mid '13. This is good and enhances social life, intellectual life, and success. Pisces: Feb 20 to March 20. (Romney’s Sun and Hillary’s Moon, Casey's Sun)
Planets passing through Taurus sextile you and bring some support. Saturn is trining you from Scorpio and this will last for a couple of years. This brings success through being realistic and practical. Planets passing through Gemini square you after mid-month. Jupiter in Gemini also squares you until mid '13. Try to reconcile the facts that you see with your inner needs. Jupiter could bring good things if you can keep your mind and communication positive. Neptune is in your sign and will be there until '25. This is huge. It can make or break you. Insight and imagination will guide you to success. Addictions and dysfunction will undo.
