| From the desk of Leslie Marlar... April 4, ‘08 Dear Friends, Don’t forget the S.T.A.R. Guild meeting at 7pm on April 9th at the Cocoa library. We’ll be playing with the concept of signatures in the horoscope, for example, the signs of the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, and ruler of the Ascendant or the preponderance of element or quality. Bring your chart. We’ll continue to experiment with plotting Mars in our charts. We saw Mars opposing Pluto last month. This month we’ll anticipate what Mars opposing Jupiter will bring. Mars, the strife filled planet, has been very active lately. From Oct ’07 until mid-May ’08, with the exception of Jan. and Feb, Mars has been in Cancer. Mars is crisis and Cancer is housing and we are having a housing crisis. Noting the timing of this correspondent may help. Violent Mars has opposed extreme Pluto 3 times recently. In late Sep.
and early Oct. ’07 the opposition produced the uprising in Myranmar.
In late Dec. ‘07 they opposed again and we witnessed the assassination
of Bhutto and the beginning of violence in Kenya. At that time Jupiter
was also opposing Mars. In early March ’08 we saw unrest and violence
in Tibet. It’s useful to note events that happened during the eclipses in Feb. ’08. The solar eclipse in Aquarius on the 5th coincided with the super Tuesday primary and took out Romney. (I still see him happy on inauguration day and he could be the V.P.) Early on the 6th unseasonal tornadoes killed 54 people. The Kirkwood shooting happened on the 7th and Romney dropped out of the race and endeared himself to his party by stepping aside for McCain. The lunar eclipse on the 19 of Feb. with the Sun in Pisces and the Moon near Saturn in Virgo corresponded to Castro resigning. And McCain, who is a Virgo, endured the Times story about inappropriate behavior with a female lobbyist. The N. Illinois U. shooting happened on the 14th and the Maryland street racing accident happened on the 16. A solar eclipse will take place on Aug. 1 in Leo and on Aug 16 a lunar eclipse will take place in Aquarius with the Sun in Leo. Both Obama and Hillary have planets in Leo. In April Mars will oppose Jupiter. In ’07 the opposition produced 2 cat 5 hurricanes that hit Mexico. The opposition falls in all of our charts wherever we have the Cancer/Capricorn axis. At best Mars/Jupiter aspects represent optimism for the future followed up by building that future. At worst it is big time trouble, like the 4 hurricanes we had in Fla. in ’04 while Mars was moving toward a conjunction with Jupiter. Jupiter opposing Mars can show that a rule or law (Jupiter) is against our desired action. Or it can show the breaking (Mars) of rules. Under this April aspect it seems best for us to take a good look at our plans to build our bright futures and do the best we can and not be thrown if there is a bit of opposition. Since Jupiter is law in the government sign, Capricorn, we’ll probably see what the government is going to do about the housing crisis. Finally, another interesting developing opposition is the one between Uranus in Pisces and Saturn in Virgo. This shows progressive idealists against practical conservatives. This is perfect for this election year. Incidentally, Hillary has a Pisces Moon and McCain is a Virgo Sun. This aspect is exact on election day. I’ll probably be teaching a class at Aquarian Dreams this summer. I’ll supply the horoscope of each student. We’ll note the key points in students’ charts and update them with the current positions of the planets. Leslie |
